Ohio. Round on the ends high in the middle.

1. Probably the first time I've come into an airport and there's a man in a suit holding a sign with my name on it....I felt like I was kinda reliving the scene from dumb and dumber where Lloyd picks up Mary Swanson.Don't worry, lucky for our chauffeur Eddy I didn't forget my briefcase (if I had one ha)
2. Nick sleeps like a mummy sitting up propped by pillows...hilarious
3. When in airports people ask "Hey what kind of board is that?" I've just decided to start telling them it's a skateboard to save time.
4. The guy sitting in front of me on the plane googled me on in-flight Internet. Creeped and flattered at the same time.
5. Kalahari is pretty much the size of middle earth and Narnia combined...INDOORS!
6. They have a roller coaster water slide, TWO of my fav family raft rides, and a body slide that empties into something resembling a toilet where you drop into a six foot pool. ha we watched 4 people in five minutes have to be saved by the life guard. I guess some people just can't handle the big kid slides.
7. "uh...I don't know if you noticed but I'm wearing red shorts. I make the rules!"
8. Kalahari has to be the first waterpark I've ever been to with three bars inside. and one of them happens to be a hot-tub swim bar. Which is why I'm guessing we saw 4 people in five minutes have to be saved by a lifeguard on the toilet slide.
9. The resort has an African theme with ridiculous animal statues all over it. Nick and I tried to ride each of them but were unsuccessful since Lenise the front desk attendant informed us nicely she would call security if we proceeded to mount simba.
10. We headed to the after party when the comp was over. Curt the flirt commenced to jump on stage with a 40 year old married couple and dance with the dudes wife. Needless to say he wasn't stoked and exchanged words followed by the middle finger. Mr. Lam gave him the hang loose symbol.
11. Curtis also decided to launch his taco supreme into the ceiling of our hotel. Taco. Fully intact. In Ceiling. I was laughing so hard i don't think I breathed for a full minute and had to lie down.

12. After the taco incident at 3 am we waited outside the room for Dan to let us in, we knew they were asleep so we tried to be super quiet. for a good 25 minutes we used the key repeatedly and tapped Morse code on the door. Welp, come to find out the room was 3501 not 3401. oops
13. EVERYONE in Ohio has tattoos. Even 13 year old girls...which I'm not sure is legal?
14. <3 hearts to the Wisconsin crew for being down to chill and give Nick and I a lift to and from the hotel!
15. Big thanks to my mommy (Momma Jo) and Tony (Le' Tigre) for helping me with travel arrangements...that's right I'm sponsored by my mom ha
16. My first Comp winning double gold. First place Female Bodyboarding and Female Flowboarding! Super Stoked! (Because it was probably never happen again haha)
Awesome stop! Met a lot of cool new people! See you at the next one! As always thanks to Xbalm, Rockwell, Flowrider Utah, My mom, Your Mom, and Waveloch!

Featured Riders of the week: The "We Got This Team" from Waterville, Alabama

This was the first stop I really got to hang out with the boys, and let me just say my heart will always hold a little spot for Cookie, Rhett & Cameron. If you know anything about flowboarding you know about this crew from Alabama. Consisting of Christian "Cookie" Cook, Rhett Blake, and Cameron Lodge, constantly pushing the sport of bodyboarding. They pretty much are the future of our sport and I can only imagine the crazy things they'll be doing in a few years when I'm old and washed up ha.
Cookie: He's adorable. Not only is he at the top of the sport, constantly progressing bodyboarding (especially with his signature trick the cookie cutter) but he is just cute as hell. I would probably ask him to marry me if he was only seven years older ha. (I'm not a creep or a pedophile, i promise.) And he has a third nipple that If he would agree to pierce it, I would gladly pay for it ha.
Rhett: Again, amazing to watch on the wave and hoping he won't charge me too much for lessons. He's nice, and absolutely hilarious. This kid will make you laugh so hard your side will hurt. Adorable and has a thick southern boy accent. 16 year old lady killa'
Cameron: A kid after my own heart. Don't let size fool you. He spins faster than just about anyone I've ever seen. I'm convinced his other job is being a part time ninja. Super sweet and I'm a little depressed that he's going to hit his growth spurt soon and I'll again be the shortest person in competition. And we ride the same bodyboard. Kid is cool in my book.
Seriously..These kids are ridiculous if you don't believe me peep there vids here:

Virginia Is For Lovers

I'm really good at taking underwater pictures

It's official! Flow Tour is back (it was actually back a few weeks ago in Waterville Alabama but I was unable to attend the event due to lack of sleep and sanity preparing for finals.) This was my first time attending Flow for Dough at Massanutten and I must say it was a good time! I've been practicing my a$$ for the past two weeks to get back into the swing of things after not flowing for awhile. And when I say practicing i'm talkin' flowing five hours straight only trying big spins while my coach Scott House makes surf wax figurines from the sidelines. Unfortunately I don't think I fully adjusted to Massanuttens wave and was unable to land a big spin in competition (better luck next time?) I took home the Silver to Amanda McCormick and look forward to future competitions together. It's amazing how much the ladies have stepped it up this year and It's awesome to see more girls riding! We even had quarter finals for this event, which for some venues is unusual due to lack of female rider base. I can honestly say it's an honor to ride with all these women because they've pushed me to learn new tricks and step up my game. This summer I'm most looking forward to seeing old friends and riding some new flowriders! I've decided that I pretty much live every twelve year old's dream. What could be better than riding a man-made wave all day in the summer and traveling to the coolest waterparks in the country? I submit, nothing! By now I'm pretty much a water slide connoisseur and after chipping a tooth and improving my slide surfing skills, no family raft ride is too intense for me. A big thanks to life guards everywhere for allowing us to break the rules and stuff six of us in one raft. Cheers! <3 Crush

I've also decided to highlight a fellow flow tour rider each blog. This one's for you Furmans!
A few of my favorite things about the Furmans:
1. Aaron & Amanda. Cutest couple alive, so cool they get to compete and do something they enjoy together!
2. Aaron was told he was no longer allowed to compete in masters. Most people would pout and be angry, but what does he do? Steps up his game and takes it to Drop Knee. Looking forward to watching you kill it all season!
3. Amanda not only competes but she also helps out behind the scenes and volunteers to take pics of the comps as well! (and she has improved her riding style a ton this season! Watch out!)
4. Aaron furman's signature flowing face. It's a combination of intense focus, locked jaw, and lips in a permanent O formation. Classic. You've inspired me to create my own signature face...I'll keep ya posted.
5. New favorite quote from Aaron Furman: We were discussing going skydiving in August for nationals. We were talking about how basically the only risk involved is that your shoot might not open...he commenced with this, "I'd jump out of the plane only to find out my shoot had been switched for a steel anvil, g-damn you bugs bunny." Seriously I teared up I was laughing so hard.
6. They are two of the most genuine people I've ever met and are great competitors as well. I've never seen them complain about anything or be rude towards a fellow rider. Thanks for everything you guys! This summers going to be a blast!
